The Pesky Pelican Brewpub is open for business.

We are following the COVID-19 reopening guidelines and regulations as set forth by the CDC, the state of Florida, Pinellas County, and the city of St. Petersburg.

About Us

The Pesky Pelican Brew Pub is an off the beaten path, family-friendly, “old school Florida” restaurant offering an extensive menu served alongside house-brewed and other local craft beer in a casual, laid-back setting with live entertainment nightly.

We brew our own beer on-site that features a small but ever-changing selection. Our small-batch house brews are developed with recipes designed specifically to pair with our food menu.

From the Kitchen

Our main food menu includes something for everyone. We offer a large array of salads, chicken wings, burgers, steaks, shrimp, smoked pork, prime rib sandwiches, desserts, and more. We offer vegan, vegetarian, and Gluten-Free options, You can view our main food menu here and view our dessert menu here.

Our meat-filled toasted ravioli are deep-fried until crisp and dusted with parmesan cheese. Our Sy “in the burg” wings are coated n a St. Louis-style wing sauce made famous at Syberg’s. Our Gerber Sandwich is topped with Provel cheese.

Our St. Louis Style Pizza starts with an ultra-thin 10″ cracker-like crisp crust that is topped with Provel cheese and your choice of a variety of toppings.

Our Gooey Butter Cake is a 2019 Strawberry Festival Blue Ribbon Winner! Best described as a “taste of heaven”, the Gooey Butter Cake is served warm with and topped with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, and caramel sauce.

  Our History

Dan Pemberton has been called an “an accidental restaurateur” by those who know him and the tale of how the Pesky Pelican Brewpub came to be.

Dan didn’t grow up with aspirations of owning a restaurant. Dan is not a native Floridan. He lived in St. Louis Missouri and worked in software development.

Dan does have a daughter, Danielle, who has always loved to cook, and Dan himself has been brewing beer for almost 20 years. He has been very involved with local Tampa Bay Area home-brew clubs and craft beer festivals.

Long before moving to Florida, father and daughter sat in the basement of their family home in Missouri and sketched up plans for a brewpub. They had a vision of a cozy place where they could serve good beer and great food and most importantly, a casual, family-friendly atmosphere where guests would feel at home.

In 2016, Dan discovered that the neighborhood bar and grill (the former McNally’s) in his own neighborhood was for sale. Dan and Danielle bought it and added a brewery so Dan could have a place to brew beer, and the Pesky Pelican Brew Pub opened to neighbors and tourists alike!
